The project site was a residential/allotment gardens area in Skive, a city located in the North of Denmark. The proximity of the site to the Fjord and river, and high groundwater levels posed a threat to the existing community and the seasonal residents of the allotment gardens. Working with the local government revealed a need for an adaptable and resilient design proposal. The biggest challenge for the project was finding a balance between community needs, nature's needs and urban development. Our team developed a phase-based design, with two different scenarios (best-case and worst-case) depending on future IPCC climate projections, to increase the design’s adaptability and resilience.
